I was planning to avoid pancake day this year but it may not be an option. Does anyone have any tips for recipe ideas or ways to limit the damage?

Cook the pancakes in a smaller pan eg the size of a tea-plate, and have them with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of sweetener. Or, of course, you could have them stuffed with a savoury filling like mushrooms and cheese.

I’m Type 1 so just have extra insulin but I do prefer cooking the pancakes in a little pan as I’d rather have two smaller ones with different toppings than one big one.

Google keto pancakes, using almond flour if you re looking for a low carb version.

Use cream diluted with water rather than milk, several eggs, bread flour rather than ordinary, add psyllium flour or other low carb flour to reduce the impact.

EllsBells, a number of people have experimented with a very, very thing omelette mixture, so a grain-free near-crepe. You could always sweeten the mixture.

Saw this recipe for Banana pancakes beat up 2 eggs and mash banana mix add some cinnamon
then fry in the frying pan in butter not tried them but thought I'd have a go something different recipe
on the net
I can't see any benefit in doing that - 2 bananas could be my entire carb intake for the day as they are both starchy and sugary - the proportions depend on the ripeness.

Has anyone actually checked how many carbs are in a pancake?
My old style, doused in white sugar, and a squirt of lemon are a thing of the past.
But, a real pancake, with berries, and for me, ice cream, (but use cream instead), and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the net carbs.

I'll be trying it, I have some overripe bananas in the freezer, I was saving for banana bread, but they'll go into pancakes instead now.

I can't see it being ketogenic - not at all. So many carbs
It would be contradictory to paleo.
In the Palaeolithic bananas didn't exist.
I wonder if cream cheese might work - a couple of eggs, cheese, some almond or coconut flour, maybe psyllium flour? I have a courgette I could blend and mix in - that might be worth trying....

Has anyone on here made pancakes with coconut flour?
