Hi @painfulpat, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. I'd definitely make an appointment your GP or diabetes nurse to discuss this. I'd also recommend calling 111 for more immediate care/advice if you're concerned.

Do you know if your glucose levels have changed much since your diagnosis? And have you recently added any meds or changed how your diabetes is treated?
Sometimes a rapid change in average glucose levels can trigger a form of short term nerve pain (transient neuropathy).
But I agree with @Sophie DUK, it sounds like it would be worth trying to book an e-consult or phone call with your GP, or ask NHS111.
That level of pain needs looking into.
