since Thursday afternoon I've been in pain at the point that is down from where the belly button is right at the bottom of my stomach. I'm not sure if that is the groin area? It is tender to touch and I've been having to take Cocodamol and ibuprofen to manage the pain. I'm definitely not pregnant and haven't had a period for seven years so it's not related to that. Any thoughts as to what it might be?

constipation or a pulled muscle, but if you are worried and the pain is too much you can always go to A&E or contact NHS Direct. I Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Caroline. It's definitely not constipation. I will check with the doctor.

Possibly gynaecological in origin AJ? Best to see the doctor if it persists.

Thanks Amigo

I had lower pain even though I've had a hysterectomy but it went away of its own accord. I did have the check for ovarian cancer though (I kept my ovaries) as a precaution.

Be aware of appendicitis if it persists and is in the lower right side. Hope it eases off soon (might be a humongous case of wind!)

Thank you Amigo. I've phoned 111 and the out of hours doctor has arranged to see me. It would be funny if it was wind 🙂

fortunately I was able to get to see the nurse at the out-of-hours doctors. Blood, protein and luthecytes (sp) in my urine and I've been given a seven day course of antibiotics - nitrofuratoin - the side effects don't look very good so keeping fingers crossed.

Thank you Grovesy

Glad you've found the reason AJ. Hope your BG's play nice with it! 😳

Thank you Amigo. Strangely BG's have been very well behaved, keeping fingers crossed that they continue to be good 🙂 I have been feeling rather spaced out.

Thank you Alan🙂

I think you mean leucocytes (white blood cells) in urine. Just mentioning this in case you want to use search engine. Hope the antibiotics start working on infection soon, without causing you side effects.

Hope you're feeling better by the morning xx

Thank you very much Copepod and Lynne. Thanks very much Copepod for telling me what that was because I didn't have a clue how to spell it. I don't think that I will be doing much today but thank goodness Mark is at home to look after me if I need it.

Hope you feel better soon

Glad to help, AJLang 🙂 Also glad that Mark is around at home with you today.
On days when I feel less than 100% (thankfully very rare), the company of my cat makes a huge difference. Like yesterday when ex partner emailed to tell me the last of the Muscovy ducks in my avatar photo died on Friday night. I'd seen both ex-partner and duck when visiting former home city at Easter. I bought some reduced price ham on way home as a treat for cat.

Thankyou LJC and Copepod. Copepod I'm so sorry to hear about your Muscovy duck. That is sad news. I'm glad that you've got your cat to keep you company.
