Pain in my back

... but what has the doctor said? How does he know you haven't got eg a kidney stone or something totally different like eg a trapped nerve?

Sorry to hear the cause hasn't been found yet, perhaps an X-ray would be a good idea.

hi goosey,

have you considered a slipped disc at all ?

x-rays are no good for spotting these as are blood tests , only ct or mri can pick them up.

I have developed a lump at the top of my back on my spine, it's an inch below my normal neck bone. I've had stiff neck for a few weeks now & the lump
wasn't there previous to the neck pain. It feels like it's pressing on nerves. When I stand up, the pain eases & things feel normal , but when I sit down, the neck strain comes back unless I tilt my head back.
I also get weakness in my arms when sitting down, but it goes when I stand as that's when everything lower is supporting the neck.
I got my doctor to look at it last week, but he said it was nothing, & I had an x-ray but it came back clear but I am going to go back to him next week.
I also had a shoulder x-ray which came back as borderline, so I have no idea what that means.
