i never get ill
if i had a cold it would last maybe 24hrs since diabetes diagnoses this year alone i have had 3 colds and they have lasted a week or more not sure if its connected thats what i am blaming it on :

When I was first diagnosed I was told I was no more likely to get a cold or anything else than any non diabetic person. Where the problem would come was in the getting better and it would take longer.

One thing I have noticed is I get fewer chest infections than I did when I had the flu jab and quite a few other people hjave said the same.

I'm pretty sure I've had less colds/flu since diagnosis, not sure if this is down to regular flu jabs or having more frequently washed hands (before BG testing). Also worth remembering that most colds and flu are acquired by touching your eyes with fingers that have the virus on them apparently.

I think it depends on what's going around. I very rarely get ill, and like you if I do it doesn't usually last very long. But this past few months I have had a couple of colds that have taken longer to go. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it's been so cold so long - we didn't get much of a summer last year and it doesn't look like we're going to get any sort of spring this year
