Hi

A quick silly question, when I had my last HBA1C blood test done I also had to hand in a pot of firt Pee which they sent off with the bloods. I had my results back but at my appointment the nurse didnt mention anything about the P test, it's only now I have remembered this.

What was the early Pee test for and should there be results I need to know?

It's usually to check that your kidneys are working OK and not leaking protein.

Hi Ghost Hunter,

The lab rodents (myself amongst them) use urines to check for proteins in the urine (it's a check on kidney function) and for micro albumins if I recall correctly. It's just to have a look at how your kidneys are doing.

I was told urine tests are to make sure your kidneys are working properly. I'm sure if there were any problems you'd have been told by now.
