Oxtail stew with herby dumplings

fancied a treat today so got some oxtail.
place any veg you like in slow cooker, slosh some oxtail soup or good homemade stock in add herbs of your choice, in a frying pan place some garlic, onions,chives, tomato paste, garlic paste, place oxtail in pan and brown it off. Open a bottle of wine slosh some in frying pan, depending on size of bottle pour drink for self or pour into slow cooker ,then pour all contents of frying pan into slow cooker, make dumplings add fresh herbs to them and place in slow cooker. Can also be done in casserole in oven. There is now a lovely aroma in my flat and when i get back from going out the smell will be divine so will the stew
 
Sounds really tasty Gail. I haven't thought of doing oxtail in years. I see you belong to the Keith Floyd school of cooking, one glass for the pot and one for you (I used to love watching him).

I shifted you to the recipe section though, so we won't lose this.
