Like most people here I have a 3 year driving licence the expiry date is 29.03.2017 however on the 30th November 2016 I turn 70 tried to use the dvla system and it told me I could not do it
so do I just wait DVLA have sent me nothing so any advice would be helpful

yesb I did ring but but it told me they were too busy and cut me off the other published No is £3.60 a minute cannot even find a an email address I can use but thanks anyway

Try 0300 123 4321 - I think this is a number for the DVLA switchboard and shouldn't cost any more than calling an 01 or 02 number.

They usually send you all the guff 3 months before your 70th birthday - you defo need to chase em Stewart but meanwhile don't worry - other than C1 and above if you indeed still have them - you still have a valid under 3500kg driving licence actually - cos it's only the C1 and above that un-D people lose at 70 unless they say they want to retain that upfront, in which case, annual medicals required from now on.

Oh - and if you need a medical at all, there's a firm of mobile doctors who do nothing BUT licence medicals for which I can get you a phone number should you need it - being specialist they know how to answer the questions (they don't tell any lies though!) and are most times a lot cheaper than your own doc, cos you always have to pay for the privilege of having the medical these days.

I'd did mine online with DVLA. I didn't have a photo license but they got my photo off my passport.
