Just needed to vent and perhaps have some sympathy! 😉

The cold that has been rumbling around my nose for that last couple of weeks has really started to cause me pain...

I've sneezed and I think I might have managed to pull something in my neck/shoulder..... 😱 I'm now sat at work looking like Quasimodo and anything other than leaning my head to the left really hurts!!!

I hate being ill 😡 and paracetamol really don't do anything.

Sympathy, of course, but perhaps some suggestions of things to try to relieve pain?

Paracetamol is a decent painkiller, but non steroidal anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen are usually better at tackling muscle pain, although not suitable for people with asthma. You can take both paracetamol and ibuprofen, within the limits stated on packets.

You might also find either a cool or heat pack helps, too. Or a warm bath / shower when you get home?

How about some sort of massage or manipulation?
For most of my life I never really considered it, but a few years ago my son qualified as a physiotherapist, and gave me a thorough going over.

I was impressed, I felt much better and all sorts of vague aches and pains had gone, or at least become much easier. Any decent physio. will be able to tell if massage will sort you out, or if there's something more serious, so they won't go too far.
I go back to him without ant hesitation, so does the rest of the family.

Try it; it won't do any harm and might just make you feel better. Ask around or start with the yellow pages. They wouldn't be in business if they weren't any good
