Has anyone bought anti-histamine tablets/creams and if so were they any good.

I seem to be waking up each day with more itchy bites to my legs. Seems there is something in our bedroom which is finding me quite tastey.

Benadryl cream works almost instantly, so well worth a try.
Perhaps put the vacuum cleaner over your mattress as well if you haven't already done so.

Yep tried the vacum cleaner already perhaps it needs an upholstry cleaner applied.

I'll try the cream you mentioned, many thanks.

Other remedies which you might already have in your home are a bit of vapour rub (which not only soothes bites but also keeps insects away), or more bizarrely, putting sellotape over the bites. Some bites itch because of contact with oxygen, so taping over them cuts off the air and stops them itching.

I find ordinary Savlon can work quite well too.

Sour things like lemon juice seem to discourage beasties from biting, and I use an aloe vera cream to soothe the itching when I get bitten. My gran always used a towel soaked in hot water to draw out the irritant from a bite, it seemed to work ok.

I hope you are able to get rid of whatever it is soon, they seem to love the warm and humid weather we're having.

Hi, some things I have used and read about when we kept getting bitten on holiday were:
Toothpaste to the bite - quite good for short time to relieve the itch.
Calamine lotion
Lavender oil - just a small drop on your bed to try and repel
Anything lemon - Citronella.

Hope these help and you find out where they are coming from.
