Wales will become the first country in the UK to introduce a revolutionary new approach to organ donation with a presumed consent “opt-out” system coming into force tomorrow (Tuesday, December 1).
As part of the Human Transplantation (Wales) Act, which will be introduced on December 1, people in Wales will be presumed to have agreed for their organs to be donated after death.
It means people who don’t want to be involved will have to formally opt out.
