Some of you may know that Abbots are renaming the strip Freestyle Optium - so in the coming weeks your prescriptions should be modified accordingly.

Mine was done today a bit chaotically - I had ordered online and normally the status moves from pending to accepted, this time it had moved to r - which my google research revealed to mean rejected - however, when I checked the issued dates they all said Friday.

A bit of confusion in the Drs - though it seems that sometimes they reject a request to modify it which must have been what happened here.

I didn't notice till I got to the pharmacy but the no of strips had been dropped. When I went back the receptionist said that next time I request some strips they can amend the quantity - they couldn't change it now (haven't a clue why).

So the moral of the story is to double check the qty before you leave the Drs.

Sigh! I get very confused with all the different names! I was thinking some of my backup strips might change, but I've got an Opium Xceed...

Not particularly looking forward to my 'prescription review' in the morning, but I have a very strong argument that I don't overtest and manage my diabetes well. I think the only thing they could do would be to inconvenience me by reducing the number of strips per script (currently 300) forcing me back more frequently.

Glad you got it sorted margie - did they explain the reduction in number at all?

No.

I suspect the prescription clerk has put it to whatever the default is for the surgery and not carried the quantity across. I'll see in two weeks if they manage to correct it.

I did take the opportunity to book my flu vaccination though.
