What are the guide lines for operations
I need a bladder biopsy
My reading at pre op
8.5
Diabetic nurse was told this is to high
What should it be

Can you clarify whether the 8.5 was an HbA1C which would normally be given in mmol/mol but if it is then it looks as if it is in the old units of % and indeed would be high.
If it is from a finger prick the 8.5 would be in mmol/l and whether it is high depends on when in relation to eating it was taken.
I think what your level should be for surgery depends very much on the type of surgery and how invasive it is.
 
It should be your hba1c (3 month average) they use to decide whether you are eligible for surgery or not. Do you know what that value is?
