Hole-in-the-heart misery has plagued a second Gloucester woman who has been told the NHS will not pay for urgent surgery despite advice from doctors.
As recently reported in the Western Daily Press, teenage heart patient Carla Maclean has spoken about her bid to raise £16,000 for an operation after being told it was not available on the NHS.
Her story struck a chord with Churchdown accountant Michelle Hanman who has the same debilitating condition.
Ms Hanman, 34, thought she had finally made a breakthrough when doctors diagnosed her persistent migraines and exhaustion as Patent Foramen Ovale closure – a rare heart defect.
