NHS Suffolk has been criticised for asking patients to only use accident and emergency services over the bank holiday if they think they are dying.

An article posted on its website asked: "Do you seriously think you're dying? If the answer is no, then it's likely you shouldn't be at A&E looking for medical treatment."

The Patients Association said it was a "concerning approach".

NHS Suffolk said the language was "too blunt" and has edited the article.

Thats strange -when I rang NHS direct on Weds night a message came on saying at least 5 hour wait and to ask yourself if you could wait. I did hang up as I thought I could wait but hubby who normally doesn't panic made me ring back. The result I had cellulitis and had to be seen urgently. The GP rang me back within 3 mins and I was seen 20 minutes later. The GP was very nice and couldn't do more to reassure me I had done the right thing.

Sometimes its a hard call to know what the right thing to do is.!🙂
