Hiya all
I'm struggling treating my hypos. If its a slow gentle one I have the nerve to treat with 3g of carbs and wait for 20mins. This will usually put me up to 7 or 8mmols. With the fast scary ones Ive had 15g before I get my senses back and surprise surprise hit 20+. My questions are

1. Why so few carbs to sort me out (been diagnosed 9 months TDD=26, ratios between 1:6 and 1:15)
2. Should I bolus for the extra carbs

Thanks in advance for your wise words

Just wanted to bump this for pg

Sorry I can't help myself on this one

Hi pgcity - if it works for you, then that's fine. As you're recently diagnosed, you're probably still in honeymoon phase, which means your pancreas is still producing insulin irregularly, which may be the cause of your hypos. I wouldn't bolus for high readings post hypo immediately and wait until your next meal.
