Been looking at Echo and it looks good. Anyone else use it?

I do try where possible to use a local independent pharmacist but the one nearest to me is useless. It’s a remarkably unpleasant experience going into the store and I’d never ask them for advice. To cap it all, last time I went in the queue was easily 20 deep and nobody was wearing a apart from me.

I don’t use Boots where possible so this looks like a decent option, especially as it’s delivered to your door but anyone else used them?

I have not used any online or heard of Echo. The comments I have seen for most of these services have been mixed.

Frown upside down?

I have not used any online services either, as my local pharmacy is generally okay. Although whilst shielding such a service would have been useful, as the local one only delivers on Thursdays, and seems to hate doing it, so on a couple of occasions I had to use a local WhatsApp volunteers group to fetch things for me.

Does your local one deliver? That way you can get the benefit of prescriptions without having to deal with them in person?

The really local independent one doesn't deliver.

I believe @Northerner used one some time ago. I can't remember the name, and the thread about it will be too long ago for me to find.

Don`t think they can get four carrier bags full in the letter box Colin.

Only way you will know is give it a go.

I have just remembered my Independent Pharmacy used to pick up prescriptions and deliver to sheltered housing near me years before delivery service became more common. I dont know if they still do as the original owners retired last year after 35 years, they were well and truly local, even lived within walking distance of the shop.
It is pretty good at sticking to the 3 in the shop at a time.

Ours is 2 at a time. Don't deliver and always run off their feet. Very helpful all in all.

I have found although mine is helpful, during tha last few months the assistant that was on the ball appears to be training to be a dispensing assistant, and there is a new girl in the shop who is not as on the ball.

I've been using Echo since the lockdown. They're OK, although they did screw up once and took nearly two weeks to deliver my meds. At the same time they must have messed up sending my request to the surgery, because I ended up with two lots of three of the items I ordered. Don't let that put you off though! All the other times they have been fine, if a little slower than expected on some items, but that doesn't matter as long as you order in plenty of time to make sure 🙂 I have considered moving to the Co-op online as I find them a more ethical organisation, just been procrastinating! 🙂

Not tried it. Hope it goes well if you decide to give it a go @ColinUK

I’m lucky to live very close to a friendly pharmacy who were great when Jane was ill, so I’m kinda keen on them
