hi i have been taking this..5mg a day for a couple of weeks now....i know one of the side effects can be a skin rash...and i have got one...dont know if it is this tablet or that i have got shingles.....waiting for doc to phone.....i really like this tablet, seems to have taking my crazy carb craving away and i feel better on it and my bs is definitely more stabilised....so all good there...but this rash..!!! any way im waiting for the duty doc to ring and advise.....so will let you know how i get on.....
just wondering if anyone else has tried this...and if so, how did it work for you...any info or advice would be most welcome.......

Hi, had to look it up! I see that it is a brand name for saxagliptin. Great that it is working for you, I do hope the rash isn't related. I think shingles is painful (my Dad suffered from it), so if it is just a rash I wouldn't think it is that. We do have other members on 'gliptins', commonly sitagliptin - I will change the title as they may not have recognised the medication as being similar 🙂

Let us know what the doctor says! 🙂

ha! doc reckons its just an allergy...to what who knows......but its deffo not the tablet or shingles...thank the lord......but it would be interesting to know how other peeps get on with these sorts of meds as the instruction leaftlet is quite scary......so ifyou can point me in the right direction that would be great!!!thanks a lot...

Well it's working for you promo - being as you're speaking to British people here, some of whom may not understand your numbers since we use different units, I'll convert them.

BG meter readings - 200 = 11.0 so 100 = 5.5

Weight - 40lbs = 2st 12lbs = 18.1 kgs

HbA1c - 11.8 = 104, 7.1 = 54, 6.6 = 49 (though admittedly, after 46 years constant use I still recognise the old units of reporting this one better than the new ones!)

I did actually wonder and then berated meself for being cynical! LOL
