Hello,
I have a One Touch Ultra Easy blood testing machine. This morning it has given me readings of 1.9, 3.3, 5.4 then followed by two errors. I did a different test on each finger to avoid aged blood affecting the result. Has anyone had problems with this machine?

Also, when it's working fine giving similar readings, it is always at least 2 lower on the reading than my other machine the Accucheck Compact.

Thanks,

Have you checked it with the test solution?

I have got about 3 of ultra easy testers. Havnt had any probs with them in last 5 plus years. As vic said i would try test solution. Good luck 🙂 Some time you just have to be a detective 😱

There's an odd thing. I used a Lifescan One Touch Ultra for years, then replaced it with an Ultra 2 when that cam eout, then when that got old had another ... lovely thing. Never ever let me down. Had a CGM on for a whole week, all the X's from the finger-stick tests were smack on the line of the graph sowe knew it was smack on. Great.

I could never ever get my A1c under 7.2 and mostly, high 7's low 8's.

Last year I got a Roche pump with an Accu-Chek meter to match. It read a lot higher than the Ultra every single time. I didn't like it .... but eventually because of all the other things that partic meter does as well, esp with the pump in Combo, I had to ditch the Ultra and just rely on the Accu-Chek.

Guess what? My A1c pretty instantly came down to 6's. And has stayed there.

I am forced to conclude that my Ultra must have been giving me falsely low readings for a very long time, despite the CGM evidence .......

Have you, though, tried changing the battery? it could be that .....
