I have been keeping an eye on the forum stats for a while after former admin @Northerner alerted me to the fact that we were approaching 1,000,000 posta on the forum, and that it might happen during Diabetes Awareness Month.

Well... we have reached that milestone today.

From what I can tell it was @Squirrel768 who made the millionth post here

Fitting that it talks about individual experience and differences in treatment over the years 🙂

Thank you to everyone who makes the forum such a supportive, informative and friendly place. You are all awesome!

What a milestone
Well done those that got this started, and to everyone who contributes and provides support and encouragement to all. So glad to have found this forum and to be part of it.

All high quality posts as well! 🙂 One of the most difficult things for a newly-launched support forum is building an audience and providing a reason for people to keep returning to see what is new each day. From the very start this forum has managed to achieve that, with early contributions from many individuals that had a broad range of experience with diabetes in all its forms, encouraging others to join in and describe their own particular problems and successes. Within 6 months we went from a handful of posts per day to 15,000 in a month, with the word spreading and more and more people joining and contributing 🙂

I have made many, many true friends over the past 12 years - such a diverse group of people of all ages and experience that you can be sure that, whatever your difficulty or concern, you can find an answer and support here from someone who knows 'just how you feel' 🙂 One thing that I have noticed over time is how many people have found the forum, and stayed and contributed for many years - true dedication to helping others live their lives better, and healthier 🙂

Well done to everyone who has made this such a welcoming, informative and supportive place, which has been a big part of my life 🙂

So glad I found this friendly, supportive forum where no question is seen to be a daft one. I'm really benefitting from all the advice to myself and others. Hats off to you all for creating this environment!

This forum is great. I don't use social media but when i was diagnosed i had a look at this forum. I can honestly say that i have never been afraid to ask a question on here. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful and some days i just don't know what i would do without it. Its just knowing that someone somewhere is going through/has been through the problems that you may be having and that they understand. Thats the biggy for me...the understanding and responding in a friendly helpful way so you feel you are not alone.
Thank you to all who set it up, who run it day by day and to all you lovely members. You are great.

Congratulations DUK forum. :D

Hi @everydayupsanddowns , I'm guessing it must be my reply in that post, as I was a tad older (by a big margin LOL) than the OP there 🙂

Wonderful milestone, though, showing that we are in an active and very supportive group across the various areas in the forum 🙂

I would say break out the champagne, but not sure what it would do to our levels LOL 😉

Congratulations to the forum on its achievement. I am proud to be the first member of the forum when it first opened. Like Northerner I have made many friends in here least of all Northerner we call each other Brothers from a friendship back when we had regular meets with good crowds. This site has been a godsend to many people including myself, I may not post often, but I look in every day and after 15 years still learn from old and new members. Long may it continue

John.

I have often wondered how you are when you have not posted for a while!
