retain Child Allowance
reduce University Fees
invest in more pumps for diabetics
 
No - it would mean my essential medicine (jelly babies) would be taxable! 😱
 
No... that's a ridiculous idea.
There are so many things that contain sugar, like bread, cakes, you would cause suffering to everyone and raise inflation. Not to mention manufacturers would switch to other sweeteners with potential bad side effects.

It's about time people took responsibility for their actions, we have to reduce our sugar intake, why can't overweight people. It would be a lot more sensible to link income tax to BMI.
What the connection is to University fees I don't understand, the same for child allowance. Tax is tax is isn't used to provide expenditure on specific items, the road fund licence (car tax) doesn't pay for the roads for example.
 
You Could tax away for me ! Dont do sweets ! Storey is worth reading from across the pond. 🙂
