Hey all.

I got put onto the onmipod dash pump in April. Really cool and I’m enjoying it.

Just want to know from others. Iv been having a bunch of pods failing where either the cannula has fallen out, the site I put it on dosent want to work and the adhesive is shockingly bad(iv also tried skintac).

Want to know if others have had theses issues frequently and if there’s anything you have done to minimise having problems.

Thanks

I’ve had a few faulty and there’s nothing I have found to stop this happening.
I report to Omnipod and they send out new ones.
I’ve got two faulty ones to report since July. One last week actually just started alarming and giving an error message “pod error” on the pdm.
With the adhesive issue they did send me the sticker covers, I’ve used 2 and I don’t rate them as they don’t keep the cannula in place and if the middle of the pod is loose and peeling off it’s pointless keeping the edges on.
Skin prep is important but I haven’t found that to help me at all. Make sure your skin is clean, and dry first. I just think now and then there’s a bad batch of pumps. Maybe the fact they are disposable plastic impacts the quality sometimes.

No longer using Dash as now using Omnipod5, in early days of podding did have few failures but not had any issues for some time now.

Regards adhesion, before application I use surgical spirit or alcohol wipes to clean skin first, it helps immensely to do so IMHO.

This is interesting, maybe I should give this a go. We are asking a lot of these little plastic parts and I don’t except perfection.

I had one recently that was not sticky at all, it was dry as a bone when I peeled the stickers off.

Some will say wipes dry out skin but tbh never found that to be the case, thing is when we shower & get ready we use toiletries which can hinder adhesion when it comes to pod & sensor application.
