I always rotate my meds and other supplies, but not really my sharps bin, when we moved I found one under the bed with not much in it, I normally fill them every couple of months. Just filled one with two spares in ten cupboard.
The council for my new house collect them when I have 5, so I currently have 2 full and 2 spares.

I got the spares out, on the first there is a faded sticker dated 2015. I thought wow!

So I reached into the back of the cupboard to get the next one, and it had a little bit more weight, looking inside it has 3 used Clexene injections. I was put on these for 6 weeks after I had Jemima, she’s now 9 😱
It’s dated 2011!

I still have the sharps bin I was given in hospital in 2008 😱 :D I've filled others in between, but only filled this one recently when I moved house whilst I got new arrangements sorted 🙂

I pick up a small one from boots chemist and hand in the full one., no fuss, no cost. The mans face was funny when I handed in a tiny travel sharps box to save bringing it home from holiday.oops just realised this post is about the oldest sharps box. Apologies for my mistake.

Mine has to be prescribed and ordered as if it were medication, but the pharmacy which rents their premises from the GP surgery in the same purpose built building, who dispense my drugs also dispense the sharps bins and accept them back when full. Have to pull the dispensing label off them as can't have individual ID on them - no idea why that might be but not arguing!

Where do you get travel size sharps bins?
