Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, it has been a while since i have been on the forum, my names Steve and i live on Teeside and i have had type 2 diabetes for nearly 20 years now. I am having a real struggle adapting to keep my sugar levels down as i have a sweet tooth, chocolate is my biggest downfall, i just dont have the willpower to say no and am finding it hard to keep them in to single figures. :(

Hi Steve
Welcome back . I Hope you get yourself back on track soon . The chocolate ain't worth it .

Hi Steve. Do you like very dark chocolate? I've managed to adapt to 85% choc & have a couple of squares everyday. Cures my cravings.

Hi Steve, welcome back 🙂 I'm also a fan of dark 85% chocolate - very low in carbs and just a square or two can take away the cravings 🙂

Welcome if you like dark chocolate definitely give it a go like others have said 85% is good but I much prefer the Lindt 90% stuff, 6 squares of green and blacks 85% chocolate comes in at 4.5g carbs and 2 squares of the Lindt 90% comes in at 2.8g carbs (the green and blacks stuff is much smaller squares than the Lindt) x

I was dubious this would work for me, but I have found about 50% I don't need it, 40 % I can limit to the two squares, and 10% I go overboard. Which for me is an achievement.

Hello Steve and a warm welcome back. I agree with @Northerner
