Welcome @Amanda smiley 🙂 Lovely to ‘meet’ you. I can imagine how hard the steroids make things. Are you on a pump or MDI?

I am on insulin pump and LibreLink sensor changing to new pump feb gone for the 670g I am on apidra insulin

I’m on a pump too 🙂 I find it makes things easier because the basal rate can be more in tune with my needs.

Good luck with your pump change!

Hi Amanda! Just going to call up @Pumper_Sue - because she has T1 and Addisons, was the first person most of us ever came across on forums who had a pump in the UK in the early noughties, and uses Apidra herself!

Hello Amanda and welcome to the forum. 🙂 As @trophywench say's I'm another Addisonian, I use Fiasp in my pump though and until about 3 years ago used bovine neutral in it. Basal is def very varied due to the steroids 🙂 I'm supposed to shield but haven't bothered as lockdown is n different than so called every day life.

Welcome to the forum @Amanda smiley

Glad you have joined us. Hope the transition to your new pump goes smoothly. Will you have access to sensors for your MM670?

No they said the hospital would not support funding did go into it to buy them myself but would cost £1,800 a year but out my price range lol

Ah shame! More people seem to be getting access to funded CGM, but it‘s still quite rare. :(

When I was on Medtronic MM640G I could run sensors for about half the year for something like £1000 a year by running a sensor a month and restarting it to get 12-14 days each. Transmitters were guaranteed for 12 months, but used to last 2 more like years.

At the time it was roughly equivalent to the self funding of Libre I was doing, but with the benefit of Smartguard 🙂
