partner collapsed on me early hours of this morning, tried everything to do a lift but couldn't do anything so had to call an ambulance.

looks like a possible TIA but at the same time they are also testing for COVID-19

am very worried at the moment as if it does come back as COVID-19 i am basically here on my own with no family or friends so will be totally cut off for 7 days.

been told that they will run through things if the worse does happen so a very tense 24 hours of waiting. it is one thing for people to isolate thinking they may or may not have it, but when it comes to the real testing been done then it becomes a totally different scenario.

:(

Fingers crossed for you both and I hope your partner recovers quickly and is back home before you know it.

Oh Mikey sorry to hear this news, keeping my fingers crossed for your partner, I can't begin to understand how worried you must be.

In terms of being on your own, do you have enough provisions? Are there any groups local to you that can make sure you have food?

Sending my love to you and your partner at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time. I hope that things work out OK for you an your partner, and that you get some local support to help you through this.

@mikeydt1 – i'm so sorry to read this, I hope your partner comes through this okay. It must be so worrying for this to happen at any time, let alone in the current circumstances.

Hopefully there will be some sort of local support for you, in situations exactly like this, if it's a positive CoVid result. Were there any symptoms?

this is now going to be a tough time as now admitted to the wards and have been informed that results will be either be tomorrow or Thursday. what is worse no visitors are allowed at the hospital. still have to call at front desk as stuff still here so they can take it to the ward.

So sorry to hear this. Hope your partner recovers well and that if you do have to isolate you can find other ways of getting any support you need (I know locally there are various voluntary groups helping get deliveries etc). Not being able to visit is so hard.

Your both in my thoughts @mikeydt1 hope everything turns out well.

Very sorry to hear this mikey. {{{Hugs}}}

just a quick update, i got a call from the ward and it was a TIA, i have only ever seen a stroke but not a TIA first hand so now know what to watch out for in future, still got to be quick acting when these things strike and sadly they can strike at any age.

Really sorry to hear this @mikeydt1

Hope your other half makes a full recovery. Are you coping OK?
