Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Back in May i had a heart attack and had two stents fitted and a pressure test done on another artery at the end of July
My diabetic nurse has now suggested i change from 5mg of Linagliptin to 10mg of Empagliflozin. Somethings saying don't do it? Has anyone used this?

Just a bit of info
Since my hiccup I've managed with diet and exercise to keep my blood glucose down regular below 8. Late last night for example my last check was 6.7 and this morning at 05.00 it was 6.8

Any thoughts would be welcome

When you asked your diabetes nurse to explain exactly why this was a good idea, what was her answer?

It would be a better option than Linagliptin. Having had a heart attack
The side affects are worrying especially being stage 3 renal (ckd chronic kidney disease)

What? you already have Stage 3 CKD, or what?

Yeah, i’m stage 3b CKD
Have been for almost 10 years. I was told this could be the cause of the diabeties?
