Oh how I'd love an Easter Egg!

Oh! How I?d love an Easter egg!
I?m trying to be good,
It would help if I was living
In an egg-free neighbourhood!

I see them stacked up in the shops
Row on row on row ?
So tempting and alluring,
I could eat them in one go!

Why don?t they think of folks like me
And make them out of meat?
An egg made out of beef or spam
Would not be such a treat?

Or if they got some garden dirt
And made them out of mud,
That wouldn?t be appealing
For it wouldn?t taste as good!

Why can?t they use a slab of lard
And carve one out of fat?
Then it would be disgusting
And I wouldn?t fancy that!

A friend suggested, maybe
If they made one out of wood ?
It?s low G.I. and fibre-rich,
And might do me some good!

No, an egg made out of chocolate
Is the only way to go,
So I?ll eat my egg in secret
And no-one will ever know.

I think we need to treat ourselves,
Not live in constant fear ?
Just have some fun like everyone,
It?s only once a year!

Oh Northey how apt lol.Ive just been given a mini crene egg one from my neigbour ill let the lilun have it .

our house is full of easter eggs...we bought them for our residents and for our co-workers (yay for being given money to do things like this!)
 
haha sorry. we bought eggs for all the residents so naturally i had to get one for me!! lord knows what the carbs are in it. might have to google around, seeing as my collins carb counter book has gone awol in the move.

Well when they sell a single Mars bar for 60p and easter eggs with 2 medium mars bars for 95p, whats a boy to do 🙄

Great poem :D I am afraid I have been naughty 🙄 I have had a few of those mini eggs 😛 As you say it's only once a year and it hasn't really affected my levels.

Brilliant poem. In our house rather than put a total ban on Easter Eggs we are sharing them and instead of a dessert after meals we are having chocolate.

Fantastic poem Northerner, i love it. This is my first year not being able to have an egg (only diagnosed last october ) so i'm feeling a little sorry for myself today.
 
to the type 1s choosing not to have an egg: why is this? i realise that's a pretty personal question, but i am having one. i am happy that i have my Novorapid to cover the carbs. i'm just wondering why people are choosing not to?
 
I bought some creme eggs a little while ago and had one after my tea every night for a week! I haven't had a proper full size egg probably for 30 years, but I've never had a particularly sweet tooth.

How about this monster? :D

We never did them in my house, which is probably why I don't have too strong a connection between excessive chocolate and Easter. Used to get SOME chocolate, but never eggs.
