My OH has decided he needs to test his blood sugar (why? Who knows). His first test had him confused, we had exactly the same meal and mine returned a 5.5 and his was 6 8. I wasn't that concerned but he was a little panicky Today he tested 2 hours after a bag of crisps, bit of chocolate (nothing else) and it was 6.8. I wasn't too worried, but he was (again) a little concerned, and found that hot weather can be a bit problematic for blood sugar Fast forward to supper, he tested 2 hours after and it was 6 0. All good.

While I admire his efforts, i do wish he would stop I have explained that no two people are the same and he shouldn't worry. But my, it's hard work!, I didn't know where to post this, was tempted with 'Off The Subject' but it felt too mean

You might also mention that our meters aren't nearly as accurate as they are precise. So while they'll say 5.5, 6.8, etc., those are all kind of the same, really. And as you say, they're all just fine.

He is obviously worried bless him but those numbers are fine for a non D .
Non Ds depending on what they’ve eaten and when they tested can go up to10 but they won’t stay up that high for as long as we do.
Just like us fats slow down the absorption of glucose into the cells, it why chocolate is not really good for hypo treatments .

It probably won’t help telling him not to worry , but I hope he gets out of this phase soon.
