I was originally diagnosed on a finger BG test about one and a half hours after I had eaten, BS 11.1 mmol/L. A subsequent test, about 5 months later, again not long after a meal, 'proved' the Dr was right in his diagnoses. It took me 18 months of badgering the DSN for an OGTT, I think she did it in the end to shut me up.

Will stick around now I've got an interest in the subject but Admin will have to give me a new box to tick now I'm not Type 2.

How about 'Forum Roadie' 🙂

Hi,
Did they actiually tell, you what the 2 hour figure was ?
You're not IFG or IGT ?

Excellent news :D

Come back as a carer, for all of us!! Congrats, i bet that's a weight of your mind.

IFG - Impared fasting glucose
IGT - Impared glucose tolerence, I believe?

yes, they are the two "pre-diabetic" conditions which are dxed via OGTTs.
Over 11.1 at the two hour mark of an OGTT you are Type 2 Diabetes.
Between 7.5(?) and 11.0 at 2 hours you are IGT.
Coming into an OGTT over 7 that is IFG.
