OLEAN ? At least one former patient of Olean General Hospital is planning to file a lawsuit against the hospital, claiming to have been infected with hepatitis C after receiving treatment for diabetes with multi-injection insulin pens early last year.
?I did send a letter to Tim Finan (Wednesday) of just the facts, notifying him that we have one client who we believe was infected with hepatitis C when they were at the hospital,? said John Elmore, an attorney at Brown Chiari Attorneys, LLC, in Buffalo, who?s representing a former patient that recently tested positive for hepatitis C.
Mr. Finan is the president and CEO of Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS), which is the managing organization of both Olean General Hospital (OGH) and Bradford Regional Medical Center.
