For. breakfast I usually eat a big handful of blueberries, greek yoghurt and a half helping of Naturya keto porridge (coconut/chia/flaxseed) porridge is 6 carbs and i take 2 units bolus. I’d seen on instagram this guy with type 1 who recommended steel cut oats and said after a while, his body got used to them. So I bought some and made overnight oats, half serving at 14.5 carbs (a lot me for me at breakfast) with same berries and yoghurt, same bolus. And…… no spike atall and blood sugar was actually running low, so didn’t need to bolus for lunch. Very surprised and pleased, because they’re really tasty and cost half the price. And very healthy. I’ll try again tomorrow with 1 unit of bolus to see if I actually need any

Absolutely. Just weird that the keto porridge at half the amount of carbs causes a bigger spike

Great to hear @louisew

Oats / porridge have long had a ‘slow release’ reputation, though some on the forum find them anything but!

Really glad you have had such success with them 🙂
