Hi everyone haven't been around for a while hope you are all feeling good. I havent been given my diabetes and weight loss the attention it requires recently :-(.

Just received a letter from the doctors to say that my 12 month hbA1c review is due and I am scared to go. I have been living in denial off having Diabetes for about the last 6 month's. And I started off so well.........can't remember the last time I checked my levels. I feel okay and do more physical exercise now.......but know I need to get back into giving Diabetes the attention it deserves.

Face the Fear. Courage Sheilagh !

- you know you need to go and have your toes tickled and all the other blood tests to make sure you haven't fried your kidneys etc, and why sit there and have it looming over you? Get it out of the way and if it's awful - put it behind you and start afresh.

If it isn't awful, you'll have worried for nought anyway, and it will be a lovely bonus, won't it?

Well said Trophywench! Plus, it might give you a nudge / some motivation to get in the saddle again as if were. Best to go, get everything checked & start afresh, far better than the head in the sand approach! 😉 Best of luck, hope it all goes far better then you expect. X

I can completely understand how you are feeling. I've been Ill with something else. My diabetes went on the back burner and my average BG on the machine was varying between 11.7and12.3.i also weigh more than I did a year ago so I've been avoiding the diabetic nurse at the surgery but I have been for my hospital diabetic appointments. I then realised on Saturday that I have a HBA1Cin September which I can't avoid. It has given me the kick I needed to pull out my CGM and get back on track. I know that you can get back on track as well.

mine was bad this time..... but what is the worse that can happen if you go to see the DSN? and what is the worse that can happen if you ignore the appointment and refuse to go?

bite the bullet Sheilagh 😎

Can't add to what's been said really.

Get it booked and get it over with 🙂 Might be pleasantly surprised (in which case you'll know that you don't need to stress about it the whole time) and if nothing else it'll help keep your Doc happy cos they get a little extra cash for box ticking appointments attended/tests undertaken whatever the results!
