A NURSE who was not struck off for maliciously injecting a baby with insulin could finally be kicked out today ? for benefit fraud.
Veronica Duncan, 46, faces a disciplinary hearing after swindling nearly ?9000 in housing benefit.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council decided not to strike her off in 2009 for poisoning her best friend?s four-month-old daughter.
But the child?s mother, a nurse who can?t be named for legal reasons, said the council now had another chance to ?do the right thing?.
She added: ?I think she should have gone to prison. She should not be allowed to care for people.?
Duncan attacked the baby in 2007. She was jealous that her friend had a healthy child after her own one-year-old daughter died of an infection the year before.
