I am now on my second week of being a very good boy foodwise. No alcohol for 5 days but made up for it at the weekend.
I lost 3lbs in weight which is obviously a benefit but my BG has improved from an average of 8.2 down to 6.7mmols/l.
So looks like the low carb eating regime is here to stay! I think I can improve a bit more.
The meals I have eaten are bacon and eggs and tomato for breakfast (no bread) , salad with feta and a few bits of smoked trout (same as salmon really) for lunch and dinner stirfry (third of a large packet) and salmon/chicken breast. I have discovered that fruit doesn't spike so much on an evening so a nectarine and 3 dollops of yoghurt delicious.. Mince with lentils and peas with/without curry powder was filling but only increased BG to 7.6 even though I must have eaten two portions!. Fantastic.
