Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
After a wake up call in July , I got my level down from 61 to 53 and Dr. Took me off my meds. I have been strictly following a low carb diet and thought things were going great. I had a review today and am now at 57 and back on Medes, albeit a lower dose. gutted,! What to do next?..

Think of it in old money; you’ve gone from 7.0% to 7.3%. Hopefully, seeing it this way shows you it’s not that much of an increase. I understand any increase can be demoralising, but diabetes is a war in which we sometimes lose and sometimes win. Have you had an illness or bug which may have played a part? My daughter had clinic on Wednesday. Me, mum and the DSN were expecting her HbA1c to be lower given her numbers over the last few weeks, and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t. It’s a question of heads down, redoubling our efforts and doing the right things.

It’s still better than it was so congratulations for that. I think you’re still doing a great job and are clearly motivated. It feels worse now because it’s recent news, but maybe in a couple of days, you will feel better. Hang on in there. 🙂

In the 15 years I have been on this journey I have had many up and downs. I have had to reassess what i eat and readjust.
