Novopen Echo plus

I recently started using the novopen echo plus in conjunction with libre app on my phone. Worked splendidly until I had to change the insulin cartridge. The app now thinks I'm using a new pen and asks me to install as a new pen. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi @Keith 58 and welcome to the forum - I have used a Novopen Echo Plus for the past 2 yrs and never had this issue - any problems I have had with Libre (Not recording my insulin doses on Librelink for example) have been sorted by uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone (You will lose your recent data but it is saved on Librelink, so you can look at it on a PC/Laptop/Tablet though)

Sorry to hear those clever diabetes gizmos are giving you the runaround @Keith 58

Hope you manage to find a workaround. Is there anything mentioned about changing cartridges in the instructions?

Hello, no I’ve not had that issue. But I did have initally tether the Novopen echo 6 plus in the Librelink menu pen type as “Novopen 6?” To get it to recognise. (2 choices on my app. Try choosing the non-plus?)

My LibreLink lists two options: Novopen 6 and Novopen Echo Plus. There's no such thing as "Novopen echo 6 plus" as far as I'm aware. (I'm not trying to defend the naming scheme they use, just clarifying it.)

No. I've not done anything special when I've changed cartridges.
Same here. As far as the pen is concerned, it’s just another dialed dose. (Along with the Airshot. Making it X2 but I don’t bother with ticking a “Flow check.”) Funny enough the Juggluco app dismisses the Airshot. (Clever.)

I have both types and had no problem with either - hope it all gets resolved
