aside from breakfast!

Late December/Early January I finally got waking levels in the fours! But last 2-3 been back in the high 5s with the odd 6 or 7. The 7s I put down to poor night sleep as there was no dietary reason for them (i.e. I knew from my BS chart where I record readings and food that there was nothing different there).

My levels are not too high, just higher than what I was getting.

so last 7 days waking:

5.9; 6.7; 6.2; 6.1; 5.8; 6.2; 6.1

before meals & after meals (sample as won't bore you with them all)
5.3/6.3 ; 6.1 /7.7 ; 7.1/6.6 this was evening meal and at bed time 2 hours later and no more food 7.3 ; 5.7/5.7 ; 6.1/7

My before bed readings are mainly high fives to low sixes.

I am on same amount of medication and actually have less stress in my life the last couple of weeks so not sure where I am going wrong.

The only food I've changed is breakfast. Was having eggs and maybe bacon & sausage but my taste buds have definitely changed. I dislike the smell of cooked breakfast now and many cheeses which I loved. I now have a piece of cheese and handful of nuts for breakfast.

A lot of food I used to love now feels a bit ucky but there is nothing I'm replacing it with as I choose food on smell and appearance and hate fish and beef, lamb etc. so basically I'm only eating chicken, cheese or nuts as protein with vegetables. Prior to D I used to eat a lot of rice & pasta and I liked my food spicy. Now I don't really like spicy food! Is this a temporary change in taste buds or permanent. My DD said our taste buds change every 21 days or so.

I know when I was pregnant I had a complete change of taste as I went from veggie to meat eater!! Coincidentally my sense of smell also increased dramatically when pregnant and smell of everyday cooking (not the actual food) made me vomit! so I'm guessing maybe my sense of smell has improved again as I've got my blood sugar down and is contributing to change of taste.

I don't eat a high volume of food and it's all low carb so not sure why I've gone back up again.

I can't say I have noticed a change in sense of smell with better sugar levels, and I am sure I would as I have little sense smell due to years of chronic rhinitis and nasal polyps. .
