went to opticians Monday before last because I had eye discomfort i.e. a vague dull pain but they couldn't find anything that would cause that. Have just stopped painkillers after being on them for a week and the vague dull pain has come back it's just below my brow bone - not sure whether to leave it or to do to eye casualty - but worried that I would be wasting their time and I'm rather fed up with medical visits.

Go and get it checked out. It may be something and nothing, but worrying will make things worse, and as you have been on pain killers for a while, it is wrth getting checked out. If it is not your eyes go and see the doctors and the dentists just to rule everything out.

I hope you feel better soon.

I would get it sorted ! Prob nothing to panic about but leave it to experts ! Good Luck 😎

I wouldn't worry about wasting their time, always best to get these things checked if not for your own peace of mind.

Thanks everyone I got the eyes checked there are no changes from before....he said the pain was probably sinus pain and to see my GP. Must admit that I am hugely relieved about my eyes

Glad to hear it Amanda 🙂

glad you got your eyes checked. Hope you see your GP, if only to reliev the pain.

Thanks Alan. Caroline after last week's appointment with my GP I don't want to go and see her again because she upset me - I'm just going to keep taking the painkillers for the pain. The only reason why I will go back to the GP is if the ESR blood test is still high when it is taken again next Friday. I a still can't get rid of this awful fatigue either.

Hi Cherrypie thank you very much for the suggestion for anaemia. They tested for this last week and the result was normal.

Very often the results for anaemia may be normal in the early days but decrease as the anaemia worsens.
I wish they could pinpoint your trouble as it must be getting you down.

Thanks Cherrypie it is getting me down. my impression is that if the ESR is back to normal next week then they won't do any more tests. I haven't got the energy to go back to them again just for the GP to tell me to exercise more and lose a few pounds......which is what I was already trying to do. I've also been unable to get from them an explanation as to why the ESR might be high.....the receptionist just said that if it was urgent the GP would have called me back in and rather than wait two weeks for another blood test.
