Weight Loss & Gain

Before I was diagnosed on the 6th of May this year.
Within two months a lost a stone and a half on the 3rd of may I weighed 8 stone 9lb (weighted by my doctor), when I was admitted to hospital on the 6th and on the 8th they weighted me and I was 9 stone 2lb (weighted by the nurse in the hospital).
So that's a weight gain of 7lb in just two days :S is that normal for being newly diagnosed with all the drips and stuff I was on.

I would say it's pretty normal Zoey. When you were diagnosed and had lost all of that weight it would have been largely due to serious dehydration because your blood sugar levels were so high. When I fell ill I weighed 9st 5, but after 4 days and when admitted to hospital I weighed 8st 4. After 8 days in hospital I weighed 9st, so quite some fluctuation mostly due to the liquid I lost when my body was trying to flush the excess sugar out of my system, and then getting that restored when I got treatment.

I'll move this to the General Message board 🙂
