Hi everyone.
Gosh it's been a while since I was last here. I think my username was something like SilentAssassin or something like that from years and years ago. Anywho, I'm back! For those who don't know/remember me - my name's Sam and I was diagnosed as type 1 on 14th February 1996. Can't believe it's almost been 21 years. During my time at Uni I didn't look after myself at all - I wanted to be just like everyone else so I didn't take my insulin or anything. It ended up with me being diagnosed with a whole bunch of complications a few years back including peripheral nueropathy and eye problems.
BUT, things are good now. I'm sure many of you will remember how much I disliked my job the last time I was here. I ended up being dismissed from the job for having too much sick time relating to my diabetes. It was a kick in the teeth to be honest, but looking back at things it was actually a very good thing indeed. I ended up jumping between jobs for a while until I got my current job with a rather large letting agent as a branch accountant. It's hard work but I'm much happier there - my diabetes is much more stable now I'm in a less stressful job and happier with everything. I've even had time to write, with my first book being published back in October. There's another one in the works which I'm currently in the process of editing.
Anywho, it's lovely to be back. I hope you're all well, old friends and new faces.
