Hello,

I was diagnosed type 2 c.3 and1/2 years ago.
But right now I am curious about something else.
Can I ask if any one of you takes a protein pump inhibitor (like Omeprazole) for digestive problems?
I would be interested to hear about your experiences with it and we could compare notes.
Here is the title of a You Tube film I made a while ago...

...2 Journey the phoenix version xvid
I'd love to get some feedback on it from you.

Hi mikl, welcome to the forum 🙂 I took omeprazole for a while after I was diagnosed as I was experiencing a lot of nausea from the various other medications I was put on. After about 6 months I decided it wasn't really helping much so stopped taking it - why do you ask? Are you on any medication for your diabetes? How have things been for you?

Hi mikl, I regularly take Omeprazole but like Northerner found, it doesn't seem to make lot of difference. I get some stomach irritation from being a regular Diclofenac user (the quack has tried to persuade me to stop taking those but for me, they are nothing short of miraculous for arthritis, so I'm happy to take the risks associated with them).

I'm wondering if not taking Omeprazole wouldn't give an immediate effect because it would take a few days for my stomach to become irritated again, only then would i notice the difference.

Hi Mikl,
I was instructed to take Omeprazole due to steroid use. (addison's disease) The affect on me was 😱 to say the least. I had so many after hours GP calls plus paramedics. All due to vomiting induced by that ruddy drug and it's side kicks. The vomiting was so bad it caused an addison's crisis on each occassion.
Once I clicked as to what was causing the vomiting, I stopped taking it and funny enough not one crisis since, except for the nr death food poisoning four years ago.

Ps welcome to the forum. 🙂

Welcome to the forums Mikl,

I was on Omeprazole for a month after I was diagnosed because I was also suffering from bad heartburn and reflux.

That did seem to fix things because I've not had heartburn since that a dose of gaviscon didn't make go away.
