North Korea was behind the devastating WannaCry ransomware attack that temporarily crippled dozens of NHS trusts, the president of Microsoft has said.

Brad Smith said “all observers in the know” now believe Kim Jong-un’s regime stole the technology needed to create the exploit from the US’ National Security Agency before unleashing it on the world.

The attack in May struck where computers were running outdated software, infecting hundreds of thousands of machines around the world.

.... a question many people worldwide have been thinking for a while ..... OTOH other than provoking even more wrath - if anyone did just that - supposing they really have got the nuclear capability they tell us they have - would it actually do anyone in the world apart from him - any good?

Apparently security around him is intense Ditto and the people around him are terrified (for good reason when you think what happened to his step-brother!). It’s suspected even ex wives have disappeared. He’s constantly on the move, has hidden bolt-holes and varies his routines. Besides which, it’s hard to get into North Korea, outsiders are monitored rigorously and it would undoubtedly be a suicide mission for anyone.

Just as well Hobie, it’s hard to get permission to go there and they watch foreigners like a hawk! Food is scarce and there’s little electricity at night. Apparently it’s the one place on the planet that’s seen in darkness at night from space! 😱
