I have been losing a lot of weight since Jan. Diet + excercise. Hba1c down at 38 or below for some time. Went to Doctor who found a mass in my stomach. Freeky couple of weeks getting CT scan and blood test. Nothing found.

Doctor has stopped my Metformin on the assumption i have essentially corrected my T2.

Great news that nothing has been found and excellent that metformin has been stopped. I'm on a reduced dose and am hoping to stop in the next 6 months or so.

Will the GP be requesting any more tests or have you been given the all clear now?

Hba1c in new year. I will keep monitoring my weight and blood glucose for another few months. Not sure if will have an annual check up.

Congratulations on both results Edwin 🙂

Im really please they found nothing bad, having test is scary but also the waiting game to find out the results, its all stressful, Stay strong Edwin. I got really unwell on Metformin after 3 year's I refused to take it further... The Dr and I fell out over it and my nurse put me on to Trulicity. once a week you have to inject it into your tummy, Since this journey began I used to have very thick curly shiny hair now i have very little hair left im almost bald and spend ages trying to hide how thin it is now its falling out all over and im am starting to panic another few months and I wont have any left, im besides myself and dont know what to do, The Dr said to pay privately and see someone who specializes in hair loss but sadly i dont have the fund to do so, he is the one who made me stay on metformin for all that time and watched how ill it made me, I hoped after coming of the metformin the hair loss would stop. It hasnt. Does anyone have any advise please. To those who have done good and can come of these meds well done guys. Im new here and hope it is ok writing if not im sorry. Im learning my way around atm so do bare with for a while, Thank you

@Toria - ever had your Thyroid levels checked? Major cause of hair loss if you are hypo thyroid! It's just another blood test - labelled 'TSH' on the blood test forms. Being as I'm Type 1, it usually gets done at the same time as my HbA1c test whether for the hospital or the GP. Not sure if they do it 'automatically' for Type 2s though.

Bless you for your reply, Thank you, Yes I have had my thyroid checked in the past but it was some time ago not recently, Maybe i should ask to have it checked and updated. Id try anything to get the answer to my hair loss. Thank you again anything helps at the minute ... X

Congratulations on the weight loss and in being signed off the metformin.

Glad your stomach was given the all clear. Hope the HbA1c stays down in January 🙂
