Any advise guys on hypos and what are good readings for my boy to go to bed on they always vary between 4.2 and 5 when he goes to bed I get up at 3am and sometimes there fine and others we are hypo . X

Well I'm not knowledgeable about what's recommended for children - but that low was certainly too low for me all the years I was on MDI - and frankly less than about 4.8 is still pretty dodgy since I've had a pump. I prefer to be around 5 myself.

What does his DSN recommend for him?

A tad too low to be going to bed on, its better if you can raise his figures towards 9/10 for a while to keep the drop out of hypo range. Time to talk with DSN.

While only on tablets that can cause hypos, those levels are to low for me. As it is I have hypos when my levels are around 6 at bed time, though I am weird the way I react to meds.

Hi Rookie

It is well worth talking to your DSN about an appropriate level for going to bed.

You will already have read wide differences in our suggestions. I know that I was able to drop my bedtime level once I switched from Multiple Daily Injections to an insuiln pump, on which I was able to change the rate of delivery for my background insulin. The use of a Libre sensor also helped me to see what was happening overnight, and to adjust my background insulin.
