The last 2 times I have had a hypo during the night I have been aware that I am hypo but still asleep and I dream that I test my BG and I'm not hypo - I dreamt I was a 10.1! This seems to go on for a while and by the time I manage to wake myself up out of it my BG is really quite low (2.2 at 4am this morning). It is a bit worrying as I'm concerned that it may happen and I may actually not wake myself up enough.

If you are dreaming you are in REM sleep and therefore close to waking. Do you have lucozade or something handy on your bedside table?

I know for a fact that my son doesn't wake when hypo, because I've tested him and found hypos when he's deeply asleep. And had to really shake him to wake him!

Yes, I always have lucozade beside the bed. I have always woken up before when hypo, thankfully.

Having the lucozade or some other resolve is a good idea, its all you can do though.......

its likely your liver will respond though....

Why did you go low on that particular occasion do you think?

i get that and i wake up and im like seriously diabetes invading my sleep but i always wake up aha.
it is quite funny though, amazing how your mind does that subconsciously.

I've recently put my lantus up by 1 unit and the past 2 nights I've gone hypo early morning so looks like it's a bit too much.
