Hi i'm new to this. I live in the West Country and I have had diabetes type 2 for the last 10 years. I am on insulin only and wish to undersatnd more about diabetes 2. If there is anyone is a similar situation I would be pleased to hear from you. Bye for now. Nigel.

Hi Nigel, welcome to the forum 🙂 What insulin are you on? It's unusual I think for a Type 2 not to be on other medication as well, such as metformin - were you formerly on this before moving to insulin, or have you been on insulin since your diagnosis?
I'd recommend getting hold of a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker. Even though you have been diagnosed a long time, it should fill in any gaps in your knowledge and help you understand and manage your diabetes better.
There are lots of people here who will be able to relate to your situation, so if you have any questions, please ask away - nothing is considered 'silly' 🙂
