if you are are bit of a nervy character then don't read read

yesterday my partners ashes came back home but a nice surprise had been put on. i had my support bubble here just in case i went to bits making sure to stick to wearing masks we both looked like a pair of surgeons to be honest.

i told my support person 'bet knowing my look it will be an undertaker with a hirst' well nearly close. it was the undertaker lass i knew but get this my partners ashes were brought back in a real posh limo! all i get if i have to go out is a poxy taxi or a freezing cold scooter. think this must of been in the planning for a while as i was wondering why it was taking so long to get the ashes back but what a surprise.

bet penny to a pound i was talk of the street they must of thought bloody hell now mike has popped his cloggs.

i was given a letter to give me permission to scatter the ashes this part i wasn't aware of and it has to be handed in when the time comes the letter is sealed. not sure if anyone knows about these letters what they give you. did sleep better last night only problem thought it was 4am when it was only 2am grrr

That's a great send off @mikeydt1 - a posh limo! Hope it's a long, long time before you find out if you come back on a freezing cold scooter!
I think you hand the letter to the people at the place you want to scatter, if it's an official place such as a crematorium. I'm pretty sure my late husband's ashes came with such a letter and that I handed it to the official when we scattered him at the crem where his dad had been scattered, under the same bush.
Hope you sleep better tonight x

A limo! Excellent. 🙂 We didn't know what to do with my cousin's ashes and his only close family are in Australia so we dug a hole in his Mum, Dad and sister's grave and bunged him in with them. Dunno if allowed or not but he's with his own which is fine by me. Dunno about a letter!

What a fabulous way for your partner to come back to you Mike!
I don’t know you Mike but I have read how you have coped over the last few weeks and I greatly admire how you keep being positive and just get on with it! Sending a huge hug ((((( )))))))

I've never had to decide that. Both at my parents crem at West Bromwich and Pete's family's one at Nuneaton, you are offered the choices of having the ashes back to do with what you will, buying a plot with an identifying plaque or stone at the crem to inter them there or the crem can scatter the ashes for you within the grounds. His aunty's vase went in with her mum, and his mum went in with his dad, both at the local cemetery.

His younger bro and his sister in law own a plot at the cemetery too - but since they moved up to Skegness years ago, dunno if they still do or what will happen when 'it' does as they have made a new life for themselves there.

as part of the agreement it was for the company to collect the ashes and bring them back to my home. i kept telephoning to see why it was taking so long for the ashes to come back as sometimes there is a charge they kept quite about the limo service.

i did find it amusing telling jacky my support bubble that knowing my luck it would be an hirst and when the limo pulled up i told her to look outside i think she honestly thought it was a hirst then told me it was a company limo. at least i can smile about it.

i did love the part bung them in to a hole. i was thinking about scattering on the sea front where we used to live what a cracking view across the bay. sticking to the final wishes garden of rest with a plaque in a rockery. still gives me the idea of buying a spade and sneaking out in the dark 😉

jenny i am actually owner of my dads plot it used to be my grandads so got it a bit cheaper. the strange thing my step sister lost her dad endless years ago too young to remember and never knew where her dad was located and be blown her dads plot was near to my dad and grandads!
