I've just had my first (free) NHS visit to the podiatrist. I was referred following my 'foot sensation check' as I have lots of hard skin and my heels tend to crack. My feet are now smooth and lovely and ready to be admired by all who see them!

Oh Lovely, I am one of these odd people who love going to the chropodist :D

Excellent news, my feet are beginning to worry me slightly they get very warm at the bottom and dont half tingle, but alas im already a thron in the side of my doctor.

If you want lovely feet, don't walk anywhere for about three months 🙂 That's what I did when I broke my femur and I couldn't remember a time when my feet were so smooth and lovely! :D OK, maybe a bit drastic!

sounds lovely. I hate my feet too. I would love a trip to a foot specialist but have no chance of my doctor agreeing to it.

Me too. I have horrid hard skin on my feet.

I thought everyone with diabetes have regular check ups for their feet, who decides who goes and when??

I will be asking my DN at the end of this month about feet and getting them checked as apart from the GP doing the 'sensation' test, i've had nothing else. I put foot cream on my feet every day to keep them soft but i've heard that Scholl do a new cream for hard skin so will have to check that out. I also use a Ped egg on my heels to keep the skin soft.

i should probably go to the podiatrist at some point soon again 🙂 i hate it though...cuz i hate feet lol!
