The NHS in Wales could be facing the equivalent of ?bankruptcy? if major changes are not made to the way services are delivered, a leading health expert has warned.
Professor Sir Mansel Aylward, chair the Bevan Commission ? a group of international experts who give advice to the Health Minister - said the financial pressures facing the NHS were the worst in the organisation?s history and that services could no longer be delivered in the same way.
He said the situation had become ?desperate? and it was vital that all groups in society understand the need for change.
